Recapping a century of history, it gives in-depth details of the genre’s most important titles.

Join co-author Peter Pinne as he discusses key themes from the book, with focus on the work of female writers, representation of Aboriginal culture, influence of Jewish culture, and the pioneering work of Australian writers in representing queer culture on main stages.

Peter Pinne is one of the most prolific creators of Australian stage musicals with credits including Prisoner - Cellblock H The Musical and the theme tune for the TV series Sons and Daughters. He has had a major career in television, working on such iconic shows as Neighbours, Prisoner, The Restless Years and The Young Doctors. He is the author of the discography Australian Performers, Australian Performances and is an historian writing for Stage Heritage. He regularly writes reviews and articles for Stage Whispers.
