The Guardian article, 14 August 2014, see link following, takes the opportunity of commenting on a play to be premiered at the Edinburgh Festival this month to muse on final performances.

Thomas Bernhard's 1976 play 'Minetti' sees a forgotten actor dream of making his comeback as King Lear.

Peter Eyre will take the role of 'Minetti' at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh, 16 - 18 August.
